Blues For Baby

Our quilt guild recently came into possession of many, many, many yards of what we've come to call the "feet fabric".  Seriously.  We have bolts of the stuff.  So one of the members has been handing out 2 yard pieces and begging us to please make baby quilts for community quilts.  She wants this fabric out of her garage.  The fabric is not very exciting.  In fact, it "reads" mostly as a light or white.  I dutifully took a couple of yards home and searched my stash to see what I could come up with.  I went with a previous pattern that I had done with strips.  Instead of making 2 1/2" strips, I made them 3 1/2".  That works up to a 9 square baby quilt really fast.  So here is the result.
Look at me.  I'm "quilt styling".

DH as quilt hanger.
I actually am thrilled with the way this turned out.  In fact, I'm going to file this idea away for future baby quilts.  You can hardly see the baby feet on the white fabric.  I also used it for the back.  I should probably ask for more "baby feet" fabric......at least until I get tired of working with it.
